"Hi! my name is Monica. I’m the vegan lifestyle writer, and content creator behind this E-zine. I started CareIt in 2019, a couple of years after I went vegan. At that time, I was learning so much about Vegan lifestyle, food, and exploring living in a whole new way than ever before. Therefore I planned to share as to what inspired me to go vegan"

Back in 90s vegans were stereotyped as a bunch of 'stoned' hippies. However, in recent years veganism has gained massive popularity from farmers to celebrities everyone is talking about it, if not experimenting. Looking at the popularity, manufacturing companies, restaurant and cafes have started introducing vegan products and special vegan menu. This change is revolutionary and can be challenging to make it your lifestyle.

So let's get your basis right!

WHAT IS VEGANISM AND WHY VEGANISM??

A vegan (strict vegetarian) does not consume meat, dairy products, eggs, honey, or any product derived from an animal. A vegan diet can (and should) be full of a wide variety of delicious, nutritious foods, including vegetables, grains, nuts, legumes, seeds, and fruits. Vegans don’t wear leather, fur, silk, or wool. Many refuse to use products that are made with animal ingredients, products that are filtered using animal parts (such as some wines, beers, and white sugars), and products that have been tested on animals.

REASONS TO BE VEGAN

  1. Did you know that every vegan saves nearly 200 animals per year? There is simply no easier way to help animals and prevent suffering than by choosing plant-based foods over meateggs, and dairy “products.”

  2. Although most people are less familiar with pigs, chickens, fish, and cows than they are with dogs and cats, animals used for food are every bit as intelligent and able to suffer as the animals who share our homes are. Pigs can even learn to play video games.

  3. Eating meat doesn’t just hurt animals—it hurts people, too. It takes tons of crops and water to raise farmed animals. In fact, it takes up to 13 pounds of grain to produce just 1 pound of animal flesh! All that plant food could be used much more efficiently if people just ate it directly. The more people who go vegan, the better able we’ll be to feed the hungry.

  4. Meat is not environmentally friendly. Consuming it is actually one of the worst things that you can do for the Earth. Meat production is wasteful and causes enormous amounts of pollution, and the industry is also one of the biggest causes of climate change. Adopting a vegan diet is more effective than switching to a “greener” car in the fight against climate change.

These are just a few reasons to inspire you to become vegan but honestly, this will be your personal journey, therefore, you will need to to find the correct reason and motivation for yourself to begin with this life-changing journey. Moreover, Careit is here to help and support your path.

“Everyone has to find what is right for them, and it is different for everyone. Eating for me is how you proclaim your beliefs three times a day. That is why all religions have rules about eating. Three times a day, I remind myself that I value life and do not want to cause pain to or kill other living beings. That is why I eat the way I do.” -Natalie Portman
